This is the final concept sketch that was chosen for the VX800, when I was designing motorcycles at Suzuki in Brea, CA. I worked on the original full size clay model, and followed it to Hamamatsu, Japan to present it to the managers in R&D there. It was introduced in 1990.
I was born and raised in Orange County, California, not too far from the Pacific Ocean. My childhood and teens took me through the turbulent and colorful decades of the fifties and sixties, graduating from High School in 1969. I always had a great passion for the ocean, creating art and building things, and learned a lot about carpentry from my father. My Career as an Industrial Designer began by completing a four year degree in Product and Transportation Design at Art Center College of Design, Pasadena, California.
