Growing up in the sixties, I was impressed with the beautiful poster art of the times. Pop music, and the British music invasion also influenced my art. Growing up in Southern California, and a frequent visitor to the beach, I was fascinated by the ocean and the sea creatures within. This scene depicts some underwater explorers in their submarine surveying the wonders of the ocean floor and the creatures residing there! The sun is a star, giving off starlight, which nourishes all creatures in the ocean, including the starfish!
I was born and raised in Orange County, California, not too far from the Pacific Ocean. My childhood and teens took me through the turbulent and colorful decades of the fifties and sixties, graduating from High School in 1969. I always had a great passion for the ocean, creating art and building things, and learned a lot about carpentry from my father. My Career as an Industrial Designer began by completing a four year degree in Product and Transportation Design at Art Center College of Design, Pasadena, California.
