This watercolor was done on location at Red Fish Lake, Idaho early one morning in 1980. This was an outing of a college watercolor class from Boise State University. I was trying to capture the serenity of the moment as the rays of the rising sun skimmed across the steaming water. I was born and raised in Orange County, California, not too far from the Pacific Ocean. My childhood and teens took me through the turbulent and colorful decades of the fifties and sixties, graduating from High School in 1969. I always had a great passion for the ocean, creating art and building things, and learned a lot about carpentry from my father. My Career as an Industrial Designer began by completing a four year degree in Product and Transportation Design at Art Center College of Design, Pasadena, California.
