Artist's Description

During high school, I worked part-time as a pump attendant at the local gas station. One of the best aspects of my job was when a cute young lady would drive in, needing gas. Part of the attendant's service ritual was pumping gas, checking the oil and battery water levels, filling the tires with air and washing the windows of the car. Depicted here is a young man giving a lesson to a cute young lady on how to check the oil level, as a co-worker looks on in the background.

I was born and raised in Orange County, California, not too far from the Pacific Ocean. My childhood and teens took me through the turbulent and colorful decades of the fifties and sixties, graduating from High School in 1969. (BSID, 1983) I later received an MBA in 1999 from the George Washington University, Washington DC) I have been married to a beautiful, talented and intelligent woman, Gretchen, for five decades, now. We are best...
