This was an oil painting done in 1980 as a student in a painting class. I reworked it in 2004, making some changes in the marketplace, but leaving the main characters alone. I wanted to tell a story, or at least tie up some loose ends. I hope you enjoy it, and can find the "third" interested party in the scene- someone watching from the marketplace.
I was born and raised in Orange County, California, not too far from the Pacific Ocean. My childhood and teens took me through the turbulent and colorful decades of the fifties and sixties, graduating from High School in 1969. I always had a great passion for the ocean, creating art and building things, and learned a lot about carpentry from my father. My Career as an Industrial Designer began by completing a four year degree in Product and Transportation Design at Art Center College of Design, Pasadena, California.
